The Yuba County Public Pool (Recreational Health) Program is responsible for the enforcement of state and local health and safety codes at all public, commercial, and multi-family residence swimming pools, spas, spray grounds, and bathing places in Yuba County. A swimming pool, spa, spray ground, or bathing place is considered "public" when operated for the use of the general public with or without charge, or for the use of members and guests of a private club, including any pool or spa located on the grounds of a hotel, motel, resort, apartment complex or any residential setting other than a single-family home.
To ensure compliance with state and local health and safety codes, YCEH conducts routine and follow-up inspections throughout the operating season of all public pools, spas, spray grounds, and bathing places in Yuba County.
The Recreational Health Program is also responsible for the review and approval of plans for new construction and for remodel of existing public pools, spas, spray grounds, and bathing places. Plans are reviewed to ensure that equipment is appropriately sized and designed to maintain safe and healthy recreational water and facilities.
