Property taxes are payable in two installments:
- The first installment is due November 1st and delinquent after December 10th. If paid after December 10th, the installment will be subject to a 10% late penalty.
- The second installment is due February 1st and delinquent after April 10th. If paid after April 10th, the installment will be subject to a 10% late penalty and $20.00 cost.
To be considered a timely payment and avoid penalties, your payment must be in our office by 5pm or postmarked by the United States Postal Service on or before the delinquent date.
Please note that if December 10th or April 10th fall on a weekend or a legal holiday, the due date will be the business day immediately following.
Property taxes can be paid by credit card or e-check through an automated phone service or online. These payments are processed by a third party vendor and are subject to a convenience fee: 2.25% for credit card transactions, 1.00% for debit card transactions, and $2.50 per e-check transaction.
To pay by phone, call 1-844-738-4027. You must have your 12-digit assessment number on-hand to complete the transaction.
To pay online, click on the Online Payments link in the menu on the left. You must have your 12-digit assessment number on-hand to complete the transaction.
Please be sure to obtain a confirmation number once your transaction is complete.
Credit card payments cannot be made in person at the counter or over the phone with the Tax Collector’s Office staff.
If your check payment is returned after the delinquent date, you will be subject to the late penalties (and $20.00 cost if it's the second installment) and a $35.00 returned payment fee, and your replacement payment would have to be in the form of certified funds (certified check or cashier's check) or cash.
You can print a copy of your tax bill from the convenience of your own home by clicking HERE. You need to have your assessment or parcel number handy in order to look it up for viewing/printing.

If current year secured taxes remain unpaid as of 5:01pm on June 30, they become a defaulted, prior year tax. As such, they would be subject to a one-time redemption fee of $15.00 and would begin incurring interest penalties of 18% annually (1.5% per month) which is calculated and charged on the first of each month.
Unsecured property taxes are taxes on property that do not constitute a lien against real property. Unsecured property taxes are levied against personal property such as office furniture, machinery, equipment, boats, airplanes, etc., and assessments based on real property that are not a lien against real property.
Unsecured property taxes are payable in one installment which is due on or before 5:00pm on August 31. Thereafter, the taxes become subject to a delinquent penalty of 10%. Should August 31 fall on a weekend or a holiday, the due date would then be the business day immediately following.
A supplemental assessment is an adjustment in real property valuation resulting from upward changes in assessed value due to changes in ownership or completion of new construction. A secured supplemental tax bill retroactively taxes the supplemental assessment of property on a pro- rata basis as a result of the assessor's reappraisal of property at its full cash value on the date that a change in ownership occurs or new construction is completed.
If you disagree with your assessed value as shown on the tax bill, you have the right to an informal assessment review by contacting the Assessor’s Office at (530) 749-7820. If you disagree with the result of the informal review, you have the right to file an application for reduction in assessment for the following year with the Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board during the period from July 2 to November 30. The Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board is located at 915 8th Street, Marysville, CA (530) 749-7510. Application for review and equalization of an assessment made outside of the regular assessment period must be filed with the Yuba County Assessment Appeals Board no later than 60 days from the first notification of that assessment (not including the notice of "Proposed" Escape Assessment).
Special assessments are direct charges against property which are included in the total amount of your tax bill but which are not property taxes in the sense of being based on the Assessor's valuation. A reclamation district charge is an example of a direct assessment
